Enjoy a majestic flight for two over the City of Granada, including spectacular views of the Alhambra, and the chance to take the controls yourself.
We'll be flying a Cessna 172, whose high wings allow for superb visibility, and unforgettable views. The experience begins with a 45 minute briefing session, which takes place inside the cabin. With your pilot alongside you'll be introduced to the most important components of the aircraft, learning what each instrument is for and how to use it. You'll learn about flight plans, navigation, taxiing and preparing for take off. Then once the pilot receives authorisation from the control tower, it's time for the journey to begin!
Our route will pass over some some memorable sights, beginning with the impressive Cubillas Reservoir, a lovely local beauty spot, its surface dotted with pedalos and boats. We'll spend some time circling the reservoir, practising key flight manoeuvres such as ascents and descents, as well a variety of turns (banking at angles of 15º, 30º y 45º). All the while, the snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada will be visible in the distance. The perfect backdrop to a special journey!
Next we leave the reservoir behind and continue our route towards Granada! This is perhaps the most wonderful section of the flight. To see this most magical of Spanish cities from the air is an breathtaking experience.
The medieval barrio of El Albayzín, the Cartuja Monastery, the Park of Federico García Lorca and, of course, the glittering, magnificent Moorish jewel, the Alhambra - you'll enjoy a bird's eye view of all these sights and more, before we turn round and begin our journey home.
All in all, a magnificent aerial adventure, and the perfect gift for anyone who's ever dreamed of being a pilot.
INFO: if you end up catching the flying bug after this experience, this lesson will count towards your license.
NOTE: in certain rare circumstances – such as an unforeseen change in the weather or extreme nervousness on the part of the client - the pilot may make the decision NOT to let the client fly the plane for reasons of safety.
All year round, Monday to Sunday.
Adverse weather conditions can sometimes make flying impossible. If your flight is called off for bad weather, a new, alternative date will be offered.
