This wonderful flight in light aircraft in Camarenilla (just 45 miles south of Madrid) offers majestic views and the chance to take control of the plane yourself.
the flight
The experience begins with a pre-flight briefing where the pilot will introduce you to the plane and discuss some of the basic principles of flying. Once airborne, the plane's dual controls will allow you to assist the pilot in a variety of manoeuvres, including climbs, descents and banking.
the route
During the flight you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of Castilla-La Mancha: the country of Don Quixote! Flights of 15 minutes or more will take you over the vicinity of the aerodrome and the typically charming Manchegan village of Camarenilla.
Flights of 30 minutes or more will approach the historic city of Toledo, whose dramatic hilltop location, surrounded by the deep gorges of the River Tagus, makes for a truly magical sight when seen from the air. You'll enjoy a bird's eye view of landmarks such as the Alcázar, the Cathedral, the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes and the bridges of Saint Martin and Alcántara.
Flights of 45 minutes or more will pass over some of the area's great medieval castles: including Guadamur, Barcience and the ruined fortress of Montalbán.
By the time you land, you should have a camera full of wonderful photographs, so don't forget to bring one along!
Note: if you'd like to enjoy this experience as a couple or with a friend, you also have the option of flying together in formation - with the two planes travelling in parallel.
Location
Camarenilla Aerodrome, Toledo. Situated 65km from Madrid and 20km from Toledo.
Season
Throughout the year from Monday to Sunday until sunset. Please check availability in advance, particularly for simultaneous flights.
Participants
The plane is a two-seater aircraft and the participant will fly alongside a professional pilot. Guests are welcome to accompany the co-pilot at the aerodrome.
Special conditions
- Individuals suffering from serious heart or bone conditions are not permitted to fly.
- Maximum weight: 120 kg. Maximum height: 2 metres. Minimum height: 1.40m
- The mininum age is 16 years old. Minors must be accompanied at the aerodrome by a parent or tutor, who will be asked to sign an authorisation form.
- Pregnant women are not permitted to fly.
Weather
Adverse weather conditions can sometimes make flying impossible. If your flight is called off for bad weather, a new, alternative date will be offered.
