If you are an aviation fan and you dream of being a pilot, now you have the opportunity to take the controls and glide through the sky with a DIAMOND DA40 Star plane. Without a doubt, it is a unique opportunity to fulfill your dream, or the dream of someone special that you'd like to surprise.
This course is an introduction to the basic notions necessary for the practice of airplane flying.
The flight departs from the aerodrome of Igualada-Odena, 45 minutes from the city of Barcelona and 1 hour from Tarragona and Lleida.
The class
To start with, you will receive a briefing in which the student is introduced to the study of navigation systems, geographical references and flight planning.
During the class, the pilot will teach you the basic principles of aviation, the maneuvers you are going to perform and the importance of meteorology. In addition, you will become familiar with the controls of the plane.
The practice of the course is based on the development of maneuvers such as taxiing, ascents and descents, turns and the introduction to the study of airfield and airport traffic circuits.
The plane is equipped with a dual control, so you'll be able to assist the pilot in a range of different manoeuvres, such as ascents, descents, banks, divebombs, tailspins, gigglebugs, and loop the loops. But do not worry! the pilot will accompany you and will indicate the maneuvers that you must carry out at all times.
The flight
The route will depend on the weather conditions. It is possible, for example, to fly over the incomparable Sierra de Montserrat and admire the unmistakable streams and ridges that this Natural Park has, one of the most recognizable landscapes in Catalan geography. You can also fly over the imposing Castle of Cardona, its walls and historic buildings, home in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries of the Catalan nobility.
Whichever the route, we assure you that you will enjoy the immense peace and serenity that can only be experienced in the air.

The Aerodrome of Igualada-Odena, located in Ódena, 2km from Igualada. It is 45 minutes by car from Barcelona and 1 hour from Tarragona and Lleida.
Season
Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. Check availability.
Special conditions
- Participants must be in good health.
- Maximum weight 105 kg. Maximum height 2 metres.
- Pregnant women are not permitted to fly.
Weather
Adverse weather conditions can sometimes make flying impossible. If your flight is called off for bad weather, a new, alternative date will be offered.
