Take to the clear blue skies of Alicante with this spectacular hot air balloon flight in Catral.
The balloon
The adventure begins bright and early at our meeting point: the Alannia Eco Camping Resort in Catral. Once we've met our pilot, we'll start the inflation of the balloon – a dramatic sight that’s definitely not to be missed. You can lend a hand or just watch in awe as hundreds of meters of canvas are transformed into the gigantic globe which will soon carry us heavenwards!
Before we board the basket, the pilot will explain some of the basic principles of balloon flying, and answer any questions you might have.
The flight
After some last minute weather readings, the flight begins. With the ignition of the flame the basket gently starts to rise, the earth recedes, and before long you'll find yourself gazing out at an amazing panorama, with jaw-dropping views of the Alicante countryside stretching out in every direction.
If the weather conditions allow, the balloon may reach heights of up 1000m, allowing us to see as far as the Manga del Mar Menor, as well as Elche with its famous palm tree groves, and the coastline of the Costa Blanca.
50 minutes of total peace and tranquility looking down on some of the most beautiful landscapes in Spain!
The Picnic
As always, once landed, we'll follow the grand ballooning tradition and celebrate our adventure with a refreshing toast of cava, followed by a picnic in the Hondo Natural Park, where you'll also be presented with a flying diploma.
Location
The meeting point is early in the morning in the Alannia Costa Blanca resort in Catral (Alicante).
Season
- Shared flight : From Monday to Sunday throughout the year. Check availability. All our non-private balloon flights depart carrying a minimum of 4 -6 passengers.
- Private flight : Monday to Friday throughout the year.
Special conditions
- Participants must be between 6 y 70 years of age on the date of the flight.
- Individuals suffering from serious heart or bone conditions or who are considerably overweight are not permitted to fly.
- Pregnant women are not permitted to fly.
- Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Reduced prices for children
Discounts available for children aged 6 to 11. Contact us for details.
Group size
All our non-private balloon flights depart carrying a minimum of 4 passengers, up to a maximum of 10. Contact us if greater capacity is required.
Weather
Adverse weather conditions can sometimes make flying impossible. If your flight is called off for bad weather, a new, alternative date will be offered.
