Learn to prepare, cook and enjoy an authentic Spanish Paella with this class in the historic centre of Valencia.

Paella is one of the great gastronomic wonders of the world, and now you can learn the secrets of this famous dish from a true Valencian paella maestro.

Our school is located in the heart of Valencia's charming old town. First the instructors will get you kitted out in your chef's apron and hat and introduce you to the key ingredients. Then they'll show you exactly how to prepare an authentic paella, step by step - the quantities, durations, as well as all the traditional tricks of the trade!

To whet your appetite, the experience also includes a tasty brunch/afternoon snack, consisting of a tapas dish and wine tasting (or craft beer).

The most exciting moment of all comes at the end of the class, when you'll have the chance to eat your own delicious, freshly-made paella, which will be served with a typical salad made with Valencian tomatoes (sourced from local orchards) and dressed with extra virgin olive oils (all with denominación de origen in the Valencian Community). The meal also includes wine tasting, coffee and dessert - a Mediterranean feast!

We offer three different classes, each featuring a different paella recipe.

  • Paella valenciana (Valencian paella) - the original, authentic paella, containing chicken and rabbit.
  • Paella de verduras (vegetable paella) - a popular vegetarian option.
  • Paella de marisco (seafood paella) - a dish typical in coastal areas, made with fresh fish and seafood.

Note: all of our paellas are prepared without gluten, using natural ingredients that are suitable for celiac sufferers.

To make this experience extra-special, we include a visit to Valencia's famous food market - the Mercado Central (from Monday to Saturday). First opened in 1928 it's one of the oldest and largest markets in Europe. During the visit we'll choose all the ingredients we need for making our paella. This is a wonderful way to discover first-hand the quality of the local produce and get a true taste of Valencian food culture!

A unique culinary adventure, one definitely not to be missed!
