The illustrious Alvear Bodega is the oldest winery in Andalucía, and the third oldest in all of Spain. Founded in the year 1729 by Don Diego de Alvear y Escalera, it still operates from the ancestral family home in the historic centre of Montilla, where eight generations of wine making expertise combines with the best of modern technology.
This superb visit includes a guided tour of the grape presses, the fermentation room, and the area of the bodega where the wines are aged. You'll also enjoy a tasting session of 4 different wines all accompanied with tradicional marinated olives and cheese.
For lunch, you'll have the opportunity to delight your palette even further, with a delicious meal at the “Taberna Bolero” restaurant, located just three minutes from the bodega.
