Hammam Al Ándalus is an urban oasis in the heart of Madrid, which the combines the magic and delight of the traditional Arab baths of Al-Ándalus, with the modern convenience of a 21st century spa.
The baths are located on the site of a centuries old aljibe (water well), in the area known as Medina Mayrit, near to what was once the Almudaina citadel and where the Almudena Cathedral stands today. In the time of Al-Ándalus, the neighbourhood served as a meeting point for different cultures and and it's possible that the spa is located on the site of the original Arab baths.
The Hammam's unique ambience will transport you to the distant era of Al-Ándalus. The evocative Mudéjar decoration, the sound of splashing water, the scent of fragrant oils and candles, and the soothing tones of traditional Andalusian music, create the perfect setting for peace and relaxation.
The experience consists of a one and a half hour circuit of the baths' three water rooms (a warm room of 36º, a hot room of 40º, and a cold room of 18º), and concludes with a visit to the Hammam's steam and rest rooms, where you can enjoy a delicious cup of traditional Arabic green tea infused with mint.
A truly blissful experience which will leave you feeling invigorated and serene!
