Learn to prepare, cook and enjoy an authentic Spanish Paella with this cooking class in the charming neighbourhood of Ruzafa in Valencia.

Paella is one of the great gastronomic wonders of the world, and now you can learn the secrets of this famous dish from a true Valencian paella maestro.

To begin this wonderful paella cooking experience, we start by visiting Ruzafa's food market, where we will choose all the ingredients we need for making our paella. This is a wonderful way to discover first-hand the quality of the local produce and get a true taste of Valencian food culture!

A unique culinary adventure, one definitely not to be missed!

Afterwards we will go to the school, where a wonderful spread of tapas, sangria and soft drinks will be waiting for us. And then yes, once you have regained your strength, it will be time to get down to work. The instructors will get you kitted out in your chef's apron and introduce you to the key ingredients. Then they'll show you exactly how to prepare an authentic paella, step by step - the quantities, durations, as well as all the traditional tricks of the trade!

The most exciting moment of all comes at the end of the class, when you'll have the chance to eat your own delicious, freshly-made paella, which will be served with a typical salad made with Valencian tomatoes (sourced from local orchards) and dressed with extra virgin olive oil. The meal also includes valencian wine, coffee and traditional desserts - a Mediterranean feast!

We offer three different classes, each featuring a different paella recipe.

  • Paella valenciana (valencian paella) - the original, authentic paella, containing vegetables, chicken and rabbit.
  • Paella de verduras (vegetable paella) - a popular vegetarian option made with locally sourced vegetables and rice from the Albufera Natural Park.
  • Paella de marisco (seafood paella) - a dish typical in coastal areas, made with vegetables, fresh fish and seafood.

Come and enjoy a genuine paella made by you with the best fresh ingredients. We are waiting for you with the apron on!

Valencian Paella course, excellent experience, improving my "skills" with paella. 100% Recommended if you manage with English, since it is the predominant language during the class. (Posted on January 10, 2023)

A great experience to make Valencian and seafood paella. First we went to the market to buy the ingredients, we met some curiosities. Then we went to the kitchen to cook, while in the dining room we ate some delicious tapas with delicious sangria. We enjoyed seeing the preparation of the paella step by step, we collaborated cooking the paella, they taught us some tricks and curiosities. At the end we ate with a salad and to finish we had a delicious liqueur dessert and coffee.
Much more than knowing how to make paella and having a good time. (Posted on July 18, 2022)
Highly recommending the Paella Class experience! Review by Tanya Salinder

The experience is the best value for money, I got a lot from it with tapas, Sangria, wine, desert, coffee, entertaining teachers and of course learning how to make Paella. If you want a truly Spanish experience like a local, this is the experience for you. We learnt a lot about the history of some of the Rusaffa market stall staff, the history of Paella and some interesting facts about Valencia as a whole too. The only thing that could make the experience completely perfect would be if participants could choose which of the three types of Paella they would want to make but that's a small thing and doesn't take away from the enjoyment I experienced in the class. Thank you Emocionday for making my Valencia experience even more memorable! (Posted on June 10, 2022)

Thank you for giving me such a spectacular day, my interest in discovering the secrets of a true paella was cleared. I congratulate María, Jordi and José for their enthusiasm, for working with passion and for the excellent organization to carry out the course. I felt at home and it was worth it. They are great professionals, I have no hesitation in recommending them. Nothing more charming than learning how to make PAELLA in the region where the tradition was born, Valencia. Good job guys./p> (Posted on November 16, 2021)
